Very nice review Eric - I really need to demo it sometime soon.

Thanks!  I would encourage you to try the demo out.  The more I use it, the more I like it.

    Well done!
Is the midi library any larger in the full product?

I had the same question. It appears to be very limited in the demo.
The review was short and to the point, I like that.

If I have one complaint it is with the sound sample. I'm not sure why people think it is important "showcase" the instrument by putting it out of balance with everything else (in fairness, you did warn the listener). I would find it much nicer if the song was mixed the way it was intended - so you could hear the piano sitting where it is suppose to sit.

    Just my 2 cents.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

I'm thinking they will expand on the piano midi just as they did the drum midi  in Superior Drummer.  They left it wide open for it.

Well, I played with it for 20 minutes today. I have to say I'm more confused than when I started. I'll need to spend more time tomorrow.

    Bapu,
    Confused?
    By the chord substitution wheel?
I haven't read the included "Theory" doc, but that might help the sub wheel
    make a little more sense.
All the little "extras" on the wheel made me have to stop and "think", trying to remember
all the theory my Father tried to have me taught.
I just wanted to play guitar to have a leg up chasing the chicks!
Couldn't hit the curve like my brother!

    Tom,

I was more confused on how to insert and delete chords form within the song section of the tool. Did not RTFM

I went and copied this answer from the Toontrack presales forum:

Yes, the grooves in the demo should be the same as the full version.

There should be quite a lot of MIDI grooves.

    - 45 songs in 9 genres.
    - each song is broken into song sections (Intro, Verse, Pre Chorus, Chorus, Bridge). Not every song has all song sections though.
    - each song section has 4 variations (a few have 3 variations). Variation 1 is more simple and gets more 'complicated' as you move down to Variation 4
    - 45 songs, 4 or 5 song sections per song, 4 grooves each song section = about 900 grooves
    - folder of FX grooves (rise/falls) and endings as well as a folder of 'Basic Chords' that has single chords, rolling chords, rhythmic chords, broken chords.

    -Eric

    PS -
It sounds like the demo does a pitch detuning every 60 seconds and has no save capability.  In regards to the manual - I would strongly encourage anyone who is demoing this to take a moment and read the manual - it will clarify the editing functions.

One of the better reviews I've read on this software. I'm definitely thinking about getting it to widen my song writing possibilities. Is there any talk of upcoming "expansion packs" to give us a wider variety of styles and choices?
