Looks like they are attempting to address what I feel is the main weakness of EZMix...the GUI/"List" look. If you have several of the expansion packs it's an absolutely dreadful way of finding presets. Tho you can have some favorites I'd like to be able to have all my Chuck Ainly presets in one easily separated and seen group. Same for all the other "celebrity" presets. Plus the ability to create your own user preset or preset chains would be great. Good for Toontrack.

I can't say a whole lot right now, but drilling down and finding presets that match a criteria isn't an issue anymore. EZmix 2 is a big step up.

Have you tried using the search function in EZmix, it works well even if you don't see the actual names. For example, type Ainlay in the search box and you should get a list of only the presets from the Chuck Ainlay pack.

Yup. My biggest gripe is that just to cycle through all the presets just trying out things is fairly tedious and the pull down list type is tiny and the names for most are not very descriptive (i.e. Bass 1, Bass 2, etc...). The new GUI with it's search criteria looks much improved.

keneds it should be a free upgrade for current "investors" I think The main reason I was disappointed with FX Chains 2.0 in X1 Expanded. If that had been properly implemented with multi-parameter support we'd have got EZMix functionality and more within Sonar itself but using our own processing plug-ins of choice.

In his Review he said
"The first issue I had with EZmix 2 was that the plug-in itself could stand to take up much more screen real estate in general or at least offer the option to increase the size. The main reason for this is the graphical depictions of the outboard gear and effects take up about one third of the plug-ins space without providing any usable features thus making all the important text very small and sometimes difficult to read."
I hope they have made a way to make the text bigger as I often found my self leaning towards my screen and out of my monitors sweet spot to get a good look at the text .
The outboard gear effects I guess will look cool but pointless if its takeing up screen room.

FYI - audiodeluxe.com has them for EZmix 2: $109 updgrade: $38.99 I'm still on the fence, isn't this like . . . cheating?? Sure seems nice for a quick mix though.

Cheating? Is it cheating to use a "piano" patch if you don't have a great Steinway or Yamaha in a great room and "the best" mics..... T

Well I jumped ship and got the upgrade on the release date. I can 100% agree with the review that was posted on here a while ago. http://www.sonicscoop.com...zmix-2-by-zach-mcnees/ "The first issue I had with EZmix 2 was that the plug-in itself could stand to take up much more screen real estate in general or at least offer the option to increase the size. The main reason for this is the graphical depictions of the outboard gear and effects take up about one third of the plug-ins space without providing any usable features thus making all the important text very small and sometimes difficult to read." Artist pre sets are a lot easyer to find now and makes it a lot quicker to move around. The amp presets are cool and straight out the box I thing the boogie emulations is awesome I love the tone there others are cool aswell. I agre with Bapu the artist presets are cool Its a cool quick mixing tool and I like it I just wish they would do something about the size :) You can download a free trial so I would say to anyone before handing over any cash try it out first

LOL - I figured that cheating remark would spark comment! Just being facetious fellas. I'm just the type person who likes to know how things work and know what I did and why I did it in the process of making a mix sound good and feel the reward of having been responsible for it getting there! I'm also getting tired on jumping on the next new thing to add to the myriad plugs I have now, jacking with them all but mastering none. I was trying to set up a template to prep for a trio (piano, bass, & drums) I'm tracking next month. While setting up the drum template for my kit, I couldn't decide on what software to use - SD3, EZ, SupD, ECO, Slate so I made a track template for each - but really, do I need all those??? NO!!! But I'm getting older and valueing my time more than ever with the grandbabies so perhaps EZmix would allow me to have the best of both worlds! (Blasted forum software! First time I had to shut down FF and open IE to post. Oh well!)
