EastWest Hollywood Strings Gold issue

Question for all my fellow users of Hollywood Strings Gold -- I am encountering a problem with a sample (or the programming) in one of the patches, and I'm wondering if its something common to every install, or just a weird glitch with mine...

The patch: Full Strings => 01 Long => "Full STR 1 NV NV NV VB RR Ni.ewi"

The note in question is in the basses, at midi G1 (moving down the keyboard, its the second G below middle C).

When I hold that note for more than 10 seconds, it usually starts producing a pretty obvious looping artefact (or something), that recurs every four or five seconds. This does not happen every time I hold this note -- sometimes it sustains pretty cleanly -- but most of the time this popping artifact starts occurring, and its very obvious and stands out when I'm trying to record a track using this patch.

Has anyone else experienced the issue? I've already contacted EastWest support about it, but I'm curious if I'm the only one hearing this...
