Editing Audio within a Video file

Hello,

Using X2, Producer and need to edit just the imbedded audio within a video recorded at a recent reunion.  The audio is very loud so I want to tone it down.  So far I've been able to import the video file into Sonar, export the audio out in order to "declip" using IzotopeRx, then import the audio back into the Sonar file.  However, when I try to save the whole thing I'm stumped.  So far can't play back any file that I save.  The video file starts out as an MPEG-4, but doesn't end up that way after my editing attempts.

Anyone have a suggestion or solution?  Seems like a simple problem, but I'm not getting it yet.

Thanks,                             jgiles

I don't do much with video so I could be wrong, but I think MPEG4 export wasn't available until SONAR X3d added Microsoft Media Foundation support:
