Editing takes on tracks in folders

I'm having some problems with two particular project files, and other projects aren't exhibiting this kind of weirdness.

The project was created entirely in X2 using nothing but X2 Producer plugins and Pro Channel modules.  It's not any cruft from X1 or 8.5 or anything like that.

The song project has 18 tracks, and some of those (4 for drums, 2 for female vocals, and 3 more for male vocals) are in 3 different track folders.  One of the male vocal tracks has 4 takes and I'm trying to comp.
What happens is that when I hold Alt+ click on an audio clip to scissor it, one of two things happens, depending on which take Im' trying to clip:

1.) nothing
2.) A different take lane within that track gets the split edit.  Usually a take lane one or two spots higher.

I have other song projects with similar layouts, including vocals that I want to comp in one track and I can successfully comp those projects.  It's just the one project.

Anybody else run into this?  Anybody find a cure?  I tried it with the standard release on X2 Producer, and when I ran into this issue I figured I'd try the Quick Fix, which doesn't address anything with lanes or folders, and same result.

The "fix" for me was to create a new track with 4 new take lanes, drag the clips into those take lanes, and then make my edits. Then add the track to the folder, and delete the old track.  That's a pain, but I guess it's workable.  I haven't gotten around to that yet with the second project and wondered if there was a simpler solution, since you can't drag Pro Channel setups from one track to another, as far as I can tell.  I have to set up all my Pro Channel modules again, or in this case I made my comp and then bounced to a clip and dragged it back to the original track.
