Educate me please..
Good day illunaries...... Based on the blurb I got last week I'm thinking pulling the trigger on X1PE. I'm still on Sonar 5.0PE so it's probably time I enter into the 21st century with everyone else. Yes...a different look and navigation but I've been putzing around with the X1 Trial for the last couple of days. ProChannel module: New to me and the letters at the top are cut off and unreadable? I was playing around with the EQ and could not figure out/find how to reset it to flat? If the above it due to my usage or stupidity let me have it. I'm just scratching the surface so any guidance on these inquiries OR anything else that might help me wade through the learning curve. Thanks to all in advance.... Addendum: I thought I would see if X1 would load on my old P4 2.8 gig machines and the install politely flips me off. This machine I'm on now X1 installed fine as it's a new Dell Inspiron with 4 gig ram and a 17" screen (YES!) All works well as I'm using ASIO4ALL for now. I do have the USB audio interface UCA200 that came with my Behringer 1622FX but haven't tried it yet.

Quazelar ProChannel module: New to me and the letters at the top are cut off and unreadable? I was playing around with the EQ and could not figure out/find how to reset it to flat? If you toggle the control bar off(C) and stretch the bottom of the GUI you should be able to access the tops of the Prochannel controls, etc. I think it is a matter of what screen resolution you use as to how much of the strip is visible. Unfortunately you can not scroll it. Hopefully this will be addressed in next update. To flatten your EQ just double click on any of the Level buttons and it will reset to 0. Double clicking on any of the buttons returns them to their default/neutral position.

lorneyb2.... Many thanks for the help. I tried about everything except what you said on the EQ thing. I'll continue on the familiarity path. Have a good one...

Well.... I tried both of your suggestions many times yesterday and no luck. The ProChannel lettering I'll not worry about as it's the trial version and resolution may be the culprit for now. EQ: I double clicked all level buttons as you state and the EQ does no re-set to flat. I"ll re-visit this again today and follow up if I have success or discover I'm missing something. I'm watching the tutorial today also. I'm only following up here in case others may be experiencing the same annoyances with this trial version. lorneyb2...thanks for chiming in.

Quazelar, When you click on the boost/cut knobs on the EQ do they go back to flat (0 db)? Do the Q knobs go straight up when you double-click them? That is all that is supposed to happen. The freq buttons do not default to straight up. They are set to someone's idea of a useful freq, but that's OK, because who's to say what the default there should be? 0 and 0 are logical defaults for boost/cut and Q.

konradh...... I've just got back to it. Now, after putzing yesterday, the ProChannel interface is now elusive to me and does not open by default like it did yesterday. Even after looking at *help* I"m not able to find/open the ProChannel window for another try. Probably my idiocy so I will advise when I figure out how to re-open it. I'm now going to check the tutorial. I'm not complaining but finding things (as compared to 5.0PE) seems to be the big learning curve. Thanks for the help....

Don't shoot me for asking the obvious, please, but you know that Pro Channel will only open on audio tracks, right? If you have a MIDI track selected, it won't open because it has no meaning for MIDI data. I'm sure you know this, but this is the kind of mistake I would make.

You can access and view all of the Pro Channel controls, but the only way AFAIK you can do it is to undock the PC via the inspector at the left of the screen. Make your edits then dock it again.

Konradh......haha....not to worry. Based on my not figuring this out yet any question to me is valid. Besides, I may shoot myself if I find I'm too daft to grasp these concepts. Bristol_Jonesey....thanks for your comments. This phrase "undock the PC via the inspector at the left of the screen. Make your edits then dock it again." I'll need to understand better when I fire up the laptop again shortly......I only on my first cup of mud. I do want to give this version a good effort even though 5.0PE has always worked flawlessly for me. Thank you both for trying to assist.

Undocking stuff is just a matter of dragging it out with the mouse. The general layout is that your inspector is docked on the left, track view in the middle, browser on the right, and muti-dock along the bottom. But you can just grab hold of these and drag them out, so they "float" wherever you want to put them.

To see the entire Prochannel you need a resolution of 800 in height. Unfortunately, the PC doesnt allow scrolling.

John T......OK....that process is what I will work on first. I do feel like I'm starting over at this juncture which is mildly frustrating. AT....thanks for that tip. Don't know what my laptop resolution is at the moment but will check that also. Still on my second cup of coffee and thanking those that chimed in. Will advise and thanks again to all....
