Eh

Eh...as in "unimpressed" by X2: 1. The Smart Tool is not working. When I click on it and then hover over a clip it acts as the Select Tool, no matter where I hover...up or down. 2. The Snap function does not work. I have been trying to snap to the 5th bar, to no avail. 3. When I go to Preferences/Snap to Grid/Specify Snap Options and Settings, there's a box labelled Magnetic Test. It has a blue bar in it. I move the bar to the right and press Apply, but X2 then resets it to the original location. 4. Track Inspector: If I name a clip (Clip/Properties/Clip Name), and then select a different clip to name it also, the display does not switch to the newly selected clip so I can enter the name in the Clip Name field. I have to select Track (located next to Clip at the top of the Track Inspector), and then go back to Clip. Then I see the empty field into which I can enter the selected clip's name. Like I said...eh.

PS: How does one turn off that vertical line? I suppose I'll get use to it, but right now it's a bit annoying.

Not running X2 myself yet, but I have been trying to soak up the issues for future reference. I do not recall seeing the other issues that you have brought up but I expect it is mostly a matter of learning the X2 way.

I think that's Aim Assist.   But I have no idea where to turn it off in X2.  The help should have something on it.

@Scook: I'd be very happy to find that it's all just growing pains, and not the start of the Bug Parade.

@stevec: Found it. Pressing X toggles it on and off.

Regarding the problem I had with clip naming, if I select the second clip with the Smart Tool by clicking in the _TRACK HEADER_, the track gets selected and I can then name the clip. So it seems this problem was a function of my first problem...not knowing that the Smart Tool had been reconfigured. Two down.

That is NOT a setting.  It's a demonstration of the effect the snap setting has on dragging an item.  You need to use the slider above it.

@Silicon Audio: Thanks. Also, after I exited Sonar and restarted, the Snap function worked. I guess I'll have to retract my "Eh." Learning curves.
