Electro Beat Drum Machine VST

Does anybody know of a drum machine VST that has good sounds for elctro type music? Thanks

The best?  NI Maschine.  Crazy good.  Arturia Spark is another.  Both are a little pricey, but excellent.  Your next choice is Geist, from FXpansion.  Good as well.  No hardware with it though.  You really can't go wrong with Maschine, IMOP.

I7 920, 8 gigs ram, Newest gigabyte motherboard, 100 gig ssd for operating system and program files, 1 TB 7400 rpm for storage, Full V-Studio system, 2x Motu 2408 MKIII, 2x Motu 24 I/O, Maschine, Kore 2, Virus TI2, Korg m3, Novation Supernova, Novation D-station, Mo Phatt, Elektron Machine Drum, MicroKorg XL, Arturia Origin, Korg Triton, Roland jv2080-completely expanded, Avalon 737SP, 3 Sony premiere monitors, 2 event 20/20 studio monitors, Autotune AVP1, TC Helicon Voiceworks, 1 TC Electronics Powercore 6000, 1 Powercore Firewire

I thought maschine was the hardware which controls plugins? Like if you have maschine hardware, you can control battery and things like that?

I like battery, but it's fairly complicated and inflexible in some ways. I have yet to find the "perfect" sampler / drum machine" plugin.

I'm also curious as to what other people use.

NI Battery is one of the better and more popular drum VSTi's. Sonic Charge's Micro Tonic is very good, too.

Maschine is actually a dedicated groove production system.  you can use it stand alone, or as a VST plug for Sonar.  It comes with around 4 gigs of samples, and you can purchase more from Native Instruments.  If you run it standalone, YES, you can load your other VSTs in it and run them with it's sequencer.  It really is awesome.  Backbone of my setup....and I have a TON of stuff.

With that said, Battery is a great option for less money.  Super Solid.  It just cant do all the things that Maschine can.

If you don't need the built-in step-sequencing of Geist, etc... then a cheaper, and simpler, option is Poise from OneSmallClue :

Having multiple samples per 'pad' is a great help for thickening / fattening up sounds.

+1 for battery.  for the price of maschine you could pick up NI Komplete and you would have all the tools you need to crank out them electro tracks  -Battery, Massive, Kontakt, Reaktor, FM8, Kore Player and Sonar = electro Bliss

Session Drummer 3 is nice, Battery is excellent and I have only heard good things about Microtonic.

A free one with really nice sounds is Dr Fusion from Odo Synths, it's amazing for the prize of nothing and I'd even reccomend people who already have great payware to DL and try it out.

Also DSK have a free little VST with plenty of retro drum machine samples in it that's very nice as well.

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.
