Elvis Rocks !

A few months ago, my dog Elvis stopped eating and was just laying around moaning. After a couple of days of this I took him to the vet. She did an xray and found that he had swallowed a rock and it was stuck in his intestine. Surgery was performed, and she removed a rock about the size of a golf ball.

After about 5 days Elvis was back to his abnormal self. 5 days later he began exhibiting the same behavior of not eating and laying around moaning. Fearing a problem with the surgery, we returned to the vet and another xray was performed. He had swallowed another rock of about the same size.

Each surgery costs over $500. Here is Elvis recuperating.

Here is how Elvis looks when he goes outside now.

Just thought I'd share. My wife says I'm being over protective. I told her if she lets him out without his muzzle, and he eats another rock she can start digging a hole.

I bought some Elvis rocks once.

They turned out to be counterfeit.

    Never again.

    Hey Randy,
As a confirmed dog lover it's good to see that Elvis is up and running.

     Go Elvis!

I don't know about all that, but if you scratch my lower belly just right, my left leg does this involuntary twitching thing. It's a big hit at parties, but frankly I wish she would stop it.

Cool story Randy, sorry it was so costly. I sure hope you can break him of that habbit.

We had a Mastiff when I was growing up that we had to move out of the house and into her own kennal because she liked to get shocked. She started by licking railroad batterys and moved on to chewing the cord off of anything we had pluged into the wall.

Randy in the mid-80's I got a dog from the dog pound.
Named him Thor because that's what he responded to.

He was always doing "funny" things. He ate a big box of crayons.
We knew when we found the colorful speckled poo..and that's true.

( thanks Rimshot and Bapu...I've been paying attention :)

Lets hope you can get him out of this habit.

My Westie, Bobby, is a good lad, he only chews his toys and seems to know what he can and cant jump on or touch. Makes me look like the Dog Whisperer supreme, but he just rolls that way. I guess we have been very lucky with him, especially when I read some of these stories here...

Dogs eat all sorts of strange things. (understatement of the day)

A guy who was working with me a few years back ...... so we were on a job site and one of the ladies there had some puppies. He ended up taking one of them home with him... (the puppies of course)

His brother, who also lived with him, decides to feed the dog.... some left over chicken.... complete with the bones.  After a trip to the vet, and $1000 later.... the dog was OK.  Expensive dog.

I think the muzzle on Elvis is probably a good idea.
