Hmmm...... that looks real to me.

If it is - a few  very good  points:-

-> thats probably the price it should have been at day 1

    -> its a %35 price RRP drop

-> once a  price drops like this, it  will not / cannot go back up - the July 31 date is just a tease

-> it makes is a very serious option for anyone looking to upgrade a studio

The only  down  sides I can see:-

-> I dont think they will offer just the VS700C by itself for  a %35 price - ie: its new retail would  ~$1495

-> given what seems to be the glacially slow uptake /sales of the whole V Studio package, this drop was inevitiable and long overdue.

As most here have previoulsy said, the  ~$3800 <-> $4000  release price was just insane.

Roland / CW broke rule number 1 of selling - "you are always better off selling more items at a lower margin, than fewer or no items at a higher margin "

If this doesnt spark some serious inventory movement on this item,  then I genuinly fear we will start to see the " run-out-deals "  commence .
Either way, the next  3 - 6 months will be  crunch-time  for the  V-Studio.

It looks like this is an ad, maybe in pre-development/approval?  Looks to have come from the desk of Sally McKague, Roland Canada Rep.  The link at the bottom of the ad is supposed to lead you to a participating dealer, but I can't find any info online for any dealers.  The link at the bottom of the ad, does have Sally's name in it though...

If someone can shed some light on this, I know there would be a boat-load of us that would jump all over this deal!!

Let us know please if you know of a dealer/retailer who is actually participating in this offer!!!  Thanks!

thanks so much for the info, Windsurfer!

Am gonna make a few phone calls first thing in the morning if I can.

The HUGE question for me is, is this price only for Canadian residents, or will any of the above retailers be willing to ship to the US?

It's a legit deal, Canada only.
Canadian dealers wont/arent supposed to ship to the US.

The ad was given out to Roland dealers to mail out to their subscribers. The dealers were supposed to fill in their contact info at the bottom, obviously this one did not do so.

Check to see who you got the email from and they will most likely be the ones hosting the sale price.

If you are still outta luck, just call your local Roland number and they will let you know the nearest store having the sale.

    Re:Email from Roland 2010/07/05 16:40:53 (permalink)
Found out that I won't be able to save much money in the end afterall.  I'll still have to pay Canadian sales tax and then on top of that I'd also have to pay in import fee of around $300 to $400 USD.

That being said, I wouldn't be saving THAT much money from a deal whereby I can get 15% off at a local dealer.

As far as being able to ship to US, I was told by one of the dealers mentioned by both Windsurfer and 8 Ohm, that they are allowed and often ship internationally.  If they advertise any price, product, and promotion on their site, they are allowed to ship to anyone who purchases via the internet.  So while this deal is only offered through certain Canadian dealers, it isn't exclusively for only Canadian residents if ordered from the website.  The same goes for any deals that a Canadian resident may order from a US retailer.

Now I just have to figure out how to convince one of these guys to purchase it personally in Canada, and send me the system as a "gift" after I paypal them personally.  :-)

Mmmm yeah I live in Canada! But I don't have the money to buy it first! If so I would get one now... Anyway I don't know if it is legal if I buy it and then ship it to you and I don't know either if you're kinding or not!
