Emily - Work in Progress

Here is something I am working on now.  Rough mix and not done recording all the tracks yet.

Yup, at bit on the unfinished side as you suggested. But, based on your finished work, I'm confident you will turn this one into a nice clean piece of work. Sounds like a good start. Also, by the way, I hope you will be commenting on others music in the forum, I'm sure they would be interested in any advice you might be willing to share. Once again, welcome to the forum.

    Peace and blessings, John

Very cool material - nice chords changes and melodies - they’re  well thought out  and have a classic rock thing going on in there. Playing and singing are excellent.  Terrific bass sound and the guitars are tastefully done as well (I mean really good and not just speed-freak riffing) . Of the three, I liked Emily the most - but all of them were solid tunes.  I think some harmony would really round out the vocals. The only crit I have is that sometimes the drums feel a bit too busy , but that’s just me. Super stuff.

I'm a busy player... LOL Can't help myself - A bit of ADHD I think :)    I am working a full length CD of 14 songs with this group.  Wish I werea songwriter but I am  the drummer and do really help shape the songs with whomever I have to work with at the time.   In this case the vocalist / guitarist is the primary songwriter and I help with arrangement and then try to bring the songs to life through the recording process.  I agree that some nice harmonies would be nice ad hopefully we will be adding those in.   At the same time, we want to keep a little rawness to the stuff.  Keyboards to be added soon too.  I've been coming the the this forum (although not songs) since I've had SOnar 7 so I've been working with Sonar a long time and really like it!   I have very little to complain about these days as I think its a fun DAW  and very powerful to use.  I just mixed for someone else in protools and hated it!  lol

I like the song and I agree some of the "weak" parts will vanish with more plays.  I like the vocals.  Nice chord changes and I too like the bass sound.  Don't let this one slide by, dude!  This has potential to be a GREAT song production.

Oh, I think that the "echo" lead guitar conflicts.  I would try a different effect.  Now, that is JUST my opinion.
