Enabled playlist crashing in recent Sonar Platinum by FX Chains [FIXED 2016.09]

Hey Folks.

I think I may have finally tracked down what is causing a playlist issue that has been driving me mad in the last three updates! Since 2016 04, any project that contains an active bus that has an fx chain inserted will crash the enabled sonar playlist. The workaround is to extract the fx chain preset. If someone could confirm this for me to check that it is not system specific before I submit a problem report would be awesome. The playlist crash will happen with any project that has the fx chain on bus combination, but here are the steps to replicate it from scratch in platinum 2016 07 :

1. Create a new blank project
2. Insert a new audio track
3. Import any stereo audio into the newly created track
4. Create a new bus
5 Route the audio track to the new bus
6. Insert a VST plugin onto the new bus (try channel tools for consistency)
7. Choose file > Save as >  Test 1
8. Right click on the vst plugin in the fx bin of the bus and choose "convert fx rack to fx chain"
9. Choose File > Save As > Test 2
10. Close the project.
11. Choose File > new > - play list set -
12. Click + and add Test 1 to the playlist
13. Click + and add Test 2 to the playlist
14. Ensure that the enable playlist button is active
15. Start the playlist from Test 1

Test 1 will play correctly, then Test 2 will crash the playlist.

This may not be a problem that is going to affect many people, but pretty awkward given that when it does you will probably be on stage:)

Thanks!

Just puting this here and editing the title in case another playlist user runs into this issue and may save them some frustration. I have checked this on three different systems now. For some reason, in the latest updates of Sonar Platinum (2016 - 04 onwards), projects containing unextracted fx chains do not play well with an enabled playlist. They can also be tricky to find as some will crash the playlists as the song loads, others as the song is unloaded.  It happens consistently with busses, but I also had one project where the unextracted fx chain was applied to an archived instrument track, causing the playlist to crash as the song exited.

This is not a huge issue once you are aware of it and the workaround is very simple. Make sure you extract all fx chains after you insert them if you intend to use the playlist.

I have submitted a problem report, though I imagine that it could be some time before an obscure problem with an easy workaround  such as this would get any attention. I do wonder what in these updates changed to brake the playlist with regard to this though. The issue does not exist in 2016 - 03.

Weird. We'll try and repro this and fix it for the 09 release.

Thanks Noel - that's great! Not such an issue once I tracked it down but it is a weird one.

    Fixed in build 22.9.0.30.

The very first update after it was reported. Support doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks Noel and bakers! Love your work:)
