End of Song or Project marker

Everyone,

Just recently I read a thread where you would go into preferences on a per project basis and set a marker or something that determines the end of a song.  Many times my songs play well after the song ends even thought I have no audio, midi or nodes beyond the end.  The simple instructions in the thread worked perfectly but sadly I can't remember them.   Anyway, I can't find the thread I read.

Can anyone tell me this procedure.  Again, I think it was in the preferences.

Thanks!

Joe

If you have the latest update, users are reporting that Ripple Editing does the job - define the region from the end you want to what SONAR sees as the end, and cut.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

There is no end of song/project marker. There is a setting to tell SONAR to stop when there is no more data to the right of Now. The setting in the Track View Options menu is called "Stop at Project End." The documentation is here. Ripple Edit as described above does help get rid of unwanted data after the expected end of a project.

Not even Ripple edit makes the job. It's a bug.

Ripple editing actually solved this issue for me. Select Ripple edit all and make sure there is no data, automation, nothing at the end of the project.

CW bakers have to put a marker "start" and a marker "end" and you can stop the project where you decide your project ends.

You know I don't always agree with everything you say ...But that's a pretty good idea.

Just double check your project, maybe an automation node or something like a clip is way down the timeline. (Go all the way to the end).
If your problem is playlist, I have nothing to say.
If your problem is with export, just drag select in the timeline to make the projects timeframe.
I use Project >from here / project> thru now function myself.

What exactly are you tying to do/ what is your problem ? Maybe I can help.
I know sometimes its easier to just say "Its a bug" but I might be able to help you find a solution.

When there is absolutely anything after my project end and after checking hundred of times and tryng hundred of workarounds, there is only one thing to say: there is a bug.

Did you report it on the "problems forum" ?
See it works for me. So im not complaining. Ripple edit fixed it.
I just offered my help (which I have better things to do). But if you wish to just call it a bug that's fine with me .

Have fun.
