Enough cold already
Although I live in a great city with a wonderful music history (Neil Young, The Guess Who, BTO, Crash Test Dummies, Lenny Breau, that 10 year old that played Lady Gaga on Ellen last week, etc... ) I can't say winter is something I enjoy. Today - March 2nd, we are waking up to -38 F with the wind chill. The dogs c*** is freezing before it hits the ground! At this pace I won't have the golf clubs out until July! Oh the joys of living 8 hours north-west of Minneapolis/St Paul!
Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take! Desktop: Win 7 Pro 64 Bit , ASUS MB w/Intel Chipset, INTEL Q9300 Quad Core, 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, ATI 5450 Video Laptop: Windows 7 Pro, i5, 8 Gig Ram Hardware: Presonus FP10 (Firepod), FaderPort, M-Audio Axiom 49, Mackie 1202 VLZ, POD X3 Live, Variax 600, etc... etc...

March 2nd, we are waking up to -38 F with the wind chill. Blimey, It's bouncing around 5 or 6C here and I've been complaining about that! I'd have to hibernate there.

You're better off hibernating here, it's to cold over there.

Colder the better I say. Snowier the better too. I woke up to a steamy 10 degree's and sunshine this morning. Quite disappointing.

One of our projects is up in Alaska where they just had a week of -40 degree weather and it didn't seem to bother them. We had a week in the high-20's to low-30's and everyone stayed inside waiting for a return to normality. Hmm... Come to think of it, we've never seen pictures of the customers in Alaska, maybe they're penguins?

Well... you could always relocate to Furnace Creek, CA. Of course it gets up to 125F in the summer, but it is a dry heat (it is in Death Valley). No rain, no snow, endless sunshine... exactly what you get in that combination: a desert. I'd much rather have the endless drizzle.

Ok. I've had enough of these fluctuating temperatures and weather. It's time to move underground. I work in IT. I play in my basement studio. My TV, couch, refrigerator, and microwave are all indoors. When someone digs out our future Utopia, I'd like a cavern with a nice view of the sunset. Now, I'm thinking there could be a fundamental flaw in this plan.

Now, I'm thinking there could be a fundamental flaw in this plan. I can relate! I actually have a house design (to be built eventually?) where most of the house is underground. There's a complete studio, a full English dart bar and what I call the "Chill Room" (set up for relaxing, listening to music and watching TV) - all downstairs. The upstairs area is just there for any "normal" people that might drop by (and I've also worked in IT my whole life so I don't know too many of that type!).

Not sure which part your at, so I am assuming that it's warmer here in Toronto, but the wind today was the ice-cycle on the cake for sure. @Herb, were you thinking about raising dental floss?

So, you're saying it's 20% - 40% better?
