Entry Level Midi Keyboard recommendation

I am a guitar player, using Sonar 6. I want to start using more midi features and simple accompanient with soft-synths. I'm looking for a basic midi keyboard but am a little overwhelmed with the options. So far I am comparing a M-audio axiom 25 to a Roland PCR-300. Any recommendations or other suggestions. Budgeting $200-$300.
Thanks,

I've got an Edirol PCR-800 and it works great with SONAR...

    * Edirol PCR Series MIDI Controller Keyboards

From what I've heard the Axioms are supposed to be nice as well, but I haven't used them and don't know how well they work with SONAR...

    * M-Audio Axiom Series MIDI Controller Keyboards

Anybody else have recommendations for entry level Midi Keyboards? Also, do they make midi keyboards with weighted keys?

Sure. There are lots of them. Roland & M-Audio make some.

Try the Keystation 88es, Keystation Pro 88, or the 61es.

The Roland A37 is a nice controller but has been discontinued.

I've been using a Roland PCR-M80 for a couple years, and have no complaints. It will do basic stuff right out of the box, but is very adaptable/programmable if you want to start expanding your reach. I think this model is still available.

I bought an EMU Xboard 61 earlier this year for about $230 on sale - so far so good.

+1 for the Edirol PCR - I've just taken delivery of an 800 and it's excellent.

The keys are velocity sensitive, which can be adjusted, if that helps a bit.

I've been fated with midi keyboards - firstly I had an Edirol (can't remember the model number) One of the keys went dead so that went into the garbage. Then I splashed out on an M Audio Midair, which was fantastic until that just went dead - again unrepairable so to the garbage can it went.
Now have a Korg49, which was the only thing I could get here - very plasticity and I didn't hold out a lot of hope that it would fare much better than the other two - but almost two years now I think and never a problem. So by that measure alone, I can only recommend it!!

ive had my axiom 61 for about a year now and it works great, the things built very well and the keys feel good when you play,
plus transport control, faders ,rotary knobs, and velocity pads all make this a nice board for 300 bucks, and enigma software is nice as well.
