Equinox -Progressive Jazz

This is another of our live recorded numbers. Again some redubbing on the lead guitar, but just the trio this time, nothing else added. I am pleased with the energy i have got in this mix, it is less laid back than the two i posted earlier. Maybe a bit more of a challenging listen too.

Hi Stuart, as with your other post, this link doesn't work for me.

I have just edited the links, hopefully should work now. The old ones seemed to include a #. I just copied the url from the IE header, maybe that doesn't work in the new version of Soundcloud.

Hi Stuart, that worked, great tune, love that guitar. Progressive jazz wasn't my first thought, sounds like a sixties spy movie soundtrack to me ; ) Nice though.

Exiting harmonies and a really clear mix. A little Pink Panther vibes in the middle as well. Very nice played guitar - and now while I am writing Earthman streams into my ears lovely tune.

Nice one Stuart. This definitely has film noir/spy series written all over it. Very expressive guitar playing and the bass is cooking!

This is a later mix of this track where i used a brighter tape sim model on the Master Bus. I think it is much better, but i have had comments on another track where i have used it (Persia) that the drums are a bit toppy.

    Any comments welcome.

Nice tunage. I agree with Rik, a sixties spy movie song.

The song is great. The mix is off. The bass and bass drum are heard rather than felt. They should be both. The toms dominate when they come in. Other than that, Great job!!!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Thanks for that i understand what you everyone is hearing now. The Bass has been a challange to get it heard, and i have cut some of the bottom end energy out to allow me to bring it up in the mix. I will revisit that and put some back in. I didnt want the bass drum to be too prominent but again i will look at the bottom end on the kick track.

I wanted the toms to be strong as they feature in this number and the drummer wanted them to be quite forward. However, i will review again with your comment in mind.

    Many thanks Robert

I love the way you use that tremelo bar.  This is a very enjoyable listening experience.  I will definitely go back and listen to some more of your tunes.  Very impressive overall.
