Eratic MIDI Meters Driving Me Crazy

I've never been able to figure out why my MIDI meters in track view seem so erratic.  Sometimes they show up whether I have the record enabled or not.  Other times they show up only if record is NOT enabled.  As soon as I enable record, they go away.  If I disable record, they come back.  The really odd thing is that not all tracks in the track view behave this way.  Some will display the meters regardless of whether I have record enabled or not!  All other settings in each track are identical, except for the MIDI channel being recorded.

It has nothing to do with sizing either.  I changed the size of the track taller, shorted, wider--nothing changes this odd behavior.

Any ideas?  Am I missing something obvious?

I'm using Sonar 7 Producer.

Thanks!

Meters can be hidden. Below shows how to make them show/hide. If it's checked it will show, not checked it won't show.

Keep in mind they are not audio meters. They just show the velocity of the MIDI notes.

Thanks guys but I already have all the meters showing.  I have also tried the Reset All Meters.  Nothing changes the behavior.  I realize these are just MIDI meters.  Please keep in mind that as I stated, these are intermittent problems and some MIDI tracks show meters and others don't, which is what doesn't make sense to me.
