Error during playback?
Just recently for some odd reason I keep getting this error message whenever I record something and play it back. During the playback the error comes up and shuts down the program... here's what it says: ______________________________________________________________________________ A fatal error has occured Module: c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared DX:\Groove Player\GroovePlayer.dll Exception code: c0000005 Address: 0C41E028:00400000:05F9F358 ______________________________________________________________________________ It also asks something like if I want to save my work, but it actually doesn't. I'm using Music Creator 4 have vista record using GNX4 straight into the computer anything else ask because that's probably not enough info So if anyone has any ideas it would help a lot! and thanx

What is groove player? Since it's in the error message, I'm thinking it might be the problem or related to it...but I don't know what groove player is.... from the dot dll ...it looks like a plug in..... And give us the details on the computer.....speed, RAM, processor, OS and most important...the sound card you're using.

grooveplayer.dll is the DXi which is used in MC/Sonar for the metronome. I did a search of the forum and many people have had problems with it in the past, but I didn't find any real solutions. you might need to email cakewalk about this one.

grooveplayer.dll is actually an integral part of sonar/MC. it's not a VSTi - it's a cakewalk native DXi and those are normally more stable than VSTi which is actually a stienberg protocol.

Yes, I've used Roland GrooveSynth before, one of the synths in "A Li'l 'Lectronica'. The things I'm reminded of reading and answering these posts.... So the Roland GrooveSynth comes with MC 4? If so, you guys asking about drums and basses, there are more drums and basses in it, too. Some sound pretty good. kerskater, have you ever used this synth? If so, it might be having a problem releasing after you close a project. Look through all your projects, open the synth rack in each one and see if the GrooveSynth is in the synth rack. If it is, select it by clicking on it and then click the red X at the top to delete it from the synth rack.

not sure that's the same thing, Greg. the grooveplayer is a plugin that cakewalk/mc uses for the metronome - I think the groovesynth is a different beastie.

Beagle is correct. The Grooveplayer is the metronome module according to this link .... Groove Clip forum info The dll is located:Module: c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared DX:\Groove Player\GroovePlayer.dll and The size should be 656 KB (671,744 bytes ) The file version: 2.0.0.1 Sometimes, the DLL ( Dynamically Linked Library ) can get corrupted ... Thus check to make sure the size is correct.... Sometimes the DLL aren't registered properly or the registration gets corrupted. This is much harder to fix and sometimes it's easier to uninstall and reinstall the program. Occassionally, malware takes the form of a dll and reeks havoc.... It would appear that this dll was a fix for problems within sonar 5.2 ??? Sonar 5.2 Metronome Fix
