Error messages: DATABASE ERROR and DATABASE UPDATE FAILED

Error messages: DATABASE ERROR and DATABASE UPDATE FAILED

I've been running Bandlab Cakewalk for 6 months alongside an original installation of Platinum Sonar with no issues on a Surface Pro. I've suddenly got these error messages on start. Projects  can be opened but I've lost a few plug ins.  
 
"DATABASE ERROR
Database connection failed. Assigned plugin categories and names will be unavailable."

and

"DATABASE UPDATE FAILED
The database update utility failed to run. Please verify that SONAR is installed correctly."
 
Is there a fix for this or should I just reinstall Cakewalk?

    Somehow Library.db went bad. No need to reinstall yet. Try this first -
    • shutdown the DAW
    • delete or rename %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library\Library.db
    • restart the DAW
