Errors opening a demo project

1) Multisample Not Found - f:\cakewalk\rxp\contents\loopmasters\dnb\producer\drums\db_170_k08_lp02.rx2
2) Missing Plug-Ins - The following plug-ins are referred to by this project, but could not be found....
   Pentagon I (Synth Rack)

The first error, I don't get at all. I ain't got no F:\ drive. And there is no c:\cakewalk folder, for that matter, either. There's "c:\cakewalk content" and "c:\cakewalk projects" and there's "C:\Users\Yirm\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk." And there's "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\RXP\Contents\Loopmasters" (no drums subfolder).

The second error is maybe because I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and the Pentagon is 32-bit?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Start by rescanning plugins. If not found,do a custom install of x3 and just install pentagon and rxp. They may not install by defalt

The multisample error may be due to where the demo file loaded the patch from when it was made . This could have been a dragged loop file but looks more like a loop loaded into the RXP vst.  Find that track, load RXP there and see if you have that specific loop to load in RXP.

The second may be fixed by rescanning plug ins, but I would also check to see if starting up Sonar as "Administrator" may also help. Pentagon used to give me a fit until I figured that one out. IHTH...

LunaTech,

I didn't fully understand what you were saying about the multisample error. That .rxp file is nowhere to be found on my computer.

But running SONAR as administrator definitely fixed the Pentagon I problem. That's the more important issue, so thank you. :)

Hi Jeremy,

Sorry if I wasn't clear.  But I think you got the jist of it.  I wanted you to trying searching for the file (which you did) and then inserting RXP into the track (if not already there) and telling RXP to use the sample found from where you found it.

Below is the path to the file on my machine.  This looks to be a default install path for Sonar. So if Sonar is installed to your C drive.  Change the J to C. Also if you have setup a different folder/drive for Sonar content (Which I have) check there.  If you don't have it then as "Dubdisciple" stated.  Check to see if you have RXP loaded as a VSI.  If not then do a custom install of Sonar ( and include the instrument and see if it addresses the issue. If that does not do it once RXP is loaded see if searching for and loading the sample into RXP does the trick. IHTH

I used to like to customize my paths for various software, and have learned that (imho) it's best to just accept the software's defaults as much as is practical, because the more variables you introduce, the more bugs you are likely to uncover. Anyhoo, RXI is definitely installed as a VSI. I have the following path:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\RXP\Contents\Loopmasters

But no "DnB Producer" under it.

There is a "DnB Producer" folder at "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\DropZone\Programs\05 - Grooves" and it has some similarly named .rx2 files, but not the one in question.

I'm not overly concerned about this. I have "bigger fish to fry" in understanding my new 21st century rig.

Pentagon is a cool looking synth. I am glad that's working and am looking forward to playing with it.

Be careful with Pentgon when checking out the presets. Here is why http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2708401
