Event List Filter by Note

Is it possible to filter the event list by a certain note(s)? If not, can we make that possible?

    Cakewalk - Documentation & Help - SONAR X2 - Event Filter Select Some/Search/Replace dialog
    "Note
Click the Note check box to search for notes of a specific type. You can specify pitch, velocity and duration data to narrow your search. Click any of the exc check boxes to exclude data from your search. For example, if you click the exc check box under Key, you can exclude notes within the pitch range specified in the Min and Max fields."

Thanks for the reply but that is just selecting the notes. I am asking to filter the Event List View by note key, in such that it only list certain notes. For example, I would like to view only the Closed Hi-Hat notes in the list.

I looked up Edit>Select>By Filter, and according to the documentation: "The Track view cannot display individual selected events".

The dialog will select all of the events identified by whatever filter parameters are selected, and Sonar will operate on them, but it does not seem they will display from Track View, when filtered.  There is shading gradients that help illustrate the relative percentage of selected events from the filter operation, but that seems to be about it, from what I found.

Perhaps there are other ways to do it - I am not sure at the moment what those would be, but will continue to poke around and will post back if I can find any other way of viewing the desired events.

Currently the only way to restrict which notes are displayed in the Event List is to move the selected events to their own track. This might actually be worth doing, even if only temporarily, depending on what the goal is and how much difficulty the lack of display filtering is causing in a given situation.

Maybe the "Split Notes to Tracks" CAL would help but it may also be overkill.

I suppose you could copy/paste the midi data to another track, and then use the CAL split script on the copied data, so as not to disturb the original.

Can I ask why you want to view things like all the hi-hat note events?  The reason I ask is that if I understood what you were trying to do, perhaps I could build a script for it.
