I'll be waiting until the 31st...I'll use up my current 30 days free pass first... That way there's no issues with overlapping...even thought there shouldn't be...LOL

At any rate, anyone wanting a 30 day all access pass to Groove3 can still sign up for the Eventide newsletter and get it.

I'm still amazed that they just "gave" us this... Talk about good PR...that's the way to do it...
I see people already selling them on KVR... not me...that's a keeper...

You know...this thread reminded me of this new plug I recently downloaded so I used it on a synth track of a project I'm currently working on. And guess what? No, go on guess. It's pretty dang good, that's what. Helluva freebie.

How would you go about selling it anyway? How would you transfer the license?

I was curious about that myself. There is an option in the iLOK License Manager to transfer your license to another account. I suppose if the buyer has a valid account, you could transfer it to his? I'm not all that curious, though. I've got it, the price was right , and it's a good plug-in. I'm keeping it.

As long as the Vendor allows transfers, you can transfer an iLok license for a $25 fee right through the iLok License Manager...it's easy and painless... other then the fee that is...LOL

I was just curious. To think though, it costs money to trade what you own or don't own. The world is mind boggling.

that link looks to be an updated install as well? ...like a Sonar update? and an ilok account costs??
I have an elicense on a USB flash drive for my Steinberg/Yamaha interface (for the FX). Totally different, right?

An iLok account is free. An iLok dongle is not free. Eventide products no longer require an iLok dongle but do use iLok software for copy protection so an iLok account is required along with software installed on your PC. The UltraChannel update is the full plug-in which overwrites the existing installation if it already exists.

Sorry, still confused. IOW, too late (for the freebie) as the update link above needs the original version already installed?? (to overwrite). and I create an ilok account and the software to download to the computer is free also? btw, I downloaded and upon scanning in Sonar, says needs the ilok to run. So it does appear to install a version of the ultrachannel. I see a .dll as well in a VST folder too. I've never used an ilok, so it's all new to me. Sorry for the newbie-ness, but I guess you gotta start somewhere. My Steinberg elisence was a first for me too.

The UltraChannel was available for free last month. The promotion is over and the plug-in now carries a $249 retail price. The iLok software is free, installs on the PC hard drive like any other application. It is not a plug-in and is not directly accessed by SONAR. It is license management software like NI Service Center. So, unless you already participated last month or plan on buying the plug-in skip this thread.

Wonder if I'm wasting my time creating an ilok account and d/l the software then. I've got a 12mb .dll file. Wonder if that's the full deal, or just update info, with the original install needed.

Since you missed the promotion, unless you plan on buying the plug-in ($249) all you are doing is installing all this software for a demo version of the UltraChannel.

k thanks. Sorry for all the questions. I'll delete what I've downloaded already. I guess the download converts back to the 2 week demo automatically without getting the ilok code during the free timeframe.

You can install the plug-in and the iLok software but you will still need to buy a license for the plug-in to use it. During the free promotion Eventide gave the license away for free. It isn't free anymore, so if you didn't get the free license you will need to buy it to use the plug-in beyond the demo period.

thx Ruben. I was trying to curb my acquisition of all these extra plugs anyway, but this one looked too good to pass...especially after watching some of the videos....and I'm sorry I missed it. The harmonizer FX was what I was really interested in, as I slathered all my 80's recordings with the one Eventide processor our studio had, at the time. It was a 910 I think. You could instantly tell which recordings used it...and which didn't. Either in a good or bad way!
