Nope.  won't judge those who do. personal decision.  I just strongly believe Microsoft would botch it.They are not known for preserving brands of things they acquire and have nothandled a media creation product well since paint.

Microsoft was advertising for audio developers to help them develop a "new dimension in music making." Does that sound like Sonar, seriously? 
 
I think they are probably looking to do something different, something a bit envelope-pushing which enables total newbies to make music and which appeals to the kidz. I don't really see how a 30 year old bug-laden DAW that was popular with the over 50's would be part of that vision. 
 
Even if they bought Sonar's source code, I don't think it would be for anything other than stripping some parts out of it to use in something that would bear no resemblance to Sonar (and I can't see it being backwards compatible with Sonar project files, put it that way). 
 
I get it, "at least we're doing something." I have nothing against people signing a petition, I just think there's looking forward and there's flogging a dead horse.

Yeah...on 2nd thoughts I'm hearin you.....Microsoft would turn it into puss.......like a music creator 4 version of sonar......Yeah whatever.....ive got 2 new computers with sonar installed, gives me 6 years more of sonar, hopefully they just release the licenses.......like that sonar employee said, sonar staff are also sonar users......anythings better than a cracked version of it, ah but by the time 2 of my computers die.....approx. 6 years time, ill be ready for a new computer and daw setup.

Windows 10, 64 bit, intel core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHZ  2.59GHZ......12 gig ram ....Sonar lifetime updates, presonus audiobox 1818 interface, and beringer UFX1604 mixer interface/control surface...... All round musician, multi-instrumentalist/songwriter.....attempting to produce good music.....started on music creator 6 2014, bought sonar 2015....and now invested in lifetime updates......Learning always!!!!Thanx cakewalk and online forum
