Everything I did (still wasn't enough...)

I recorded this many years ago. I really like the song? And I think I had some good performances. I love the guitars on the solo and at the end where they go chick-a-dowwww :-)

I lost the original project in a crash, and thought I lost all of it, but recently found the MP3. So I loaded it up and attempted to save it w/Ozone 5, and I added the back-up vox tonight.

I'm not a huge fan of the mix, but I don't have the tracks :-( It came out "ok" considering?

Again, the BGV were tonight :-) And the overall master (from a 6 year old piece of? well, let's just say I've learned a lot since then...)

It's a beautiful song;

    Hi Robby ,
I've been going through a lot of my old music from 5 or 6 years ago myself ......
it's got me thinking , yeah I can probably dial in some of these a lot better than I did back then
also , I did find a few tunes that gave me  a what was i thinking when I did this song feeling in my gut  lol

    on your tune ,
Yeah Man , I've always said you got chops on a lot of levels ....
I'm impressed w the amount of work and attention to detail you put into covering this song
musically and stylistically you nailed so many of the tones, nuances and parts of this classic song

Love what you can do w your voice ....you sang this tune like you wrote it and owned it ....
big + on the BV ...sounds good

yeah , I can feel you on loosing the individual tracks/ song project ...I've been there ..
good thing you found the mp3 ....

as far as the mix go's , don't be so hard on your self .....
it sounds better than a lot of mix's I've done lol .....
a couple of rough spots in places ....so what .
we all know that if you had the original tracks you lost , you would have this song mixed to how you would want it to sound now .

    all the best,

    Kenny

This song always cause me a little pain when I hear it.

It stayed so so so so long in the UK charts that it is now almost painful to hear by anybody.

Sound like you done a pretty good job.

But in all honesty I can not say thanks for sharing see first sentence to understand.

Maybe it has too much bass? Or maybe I should submit it with another song for final approval?

A little too "pop" for me, but very well done as usual.

Thanks Daryl, and your other brother Daryl. We strive to improve our art and engineering (the big struggle for me in the later)

Thanks Frank. I wish I could be Frank with this forum? But unfortunately, they're stuck with me :-( (OH THE HUMANITY!)

Wookie monster, thanks for not tearing my arms off :-) (I hear your kind is known for that) I'm a big BA fan from back in the day, always loved his music.

Kenny, thanks, yes sir, I tend to put myself in the position of the writer for my performance. It helps when it's one about a guy who's been boned regardless of what he did/dose. Fortunately we've all (most of us) been in love at least once, so I just close my eyes and picture Kate Beckinsale in some lingerie and there you go? Viola! Instant passion!! :-)

Robbie, I wouldn't complain about this, it sounds great and the guitar soothing and mellow and fits the piece nicely. BVG are awesome as usual, and the production sounds just fine. Nice piece of work.

    Great cover.....

One of my all time favorite guitar solos....ever..... just so fat sounding and tastefully played.

You did this pretty faithfully to the original.

One of the versions I have of this song....as the song ends, it kicks into the instrumental part again and plays that way for several minutes.... the version is almost 6 minutes in length.....

I like it robby, but I think you should re record everything to get a fresh mix ...since you have so much more experience now.

I "may" try to recreate it? Like I said, the mix is pretty much crap, and the way I treated the vocals? And the mix overall IMO, could just really be much better. I was happy to recover the mp3 :-) Because these days? It seems to take me longer to do pretty much everything (except some things?) Ain't that a B? There are actually a bunch of my older ones I have that I have the files for, that I could try to do a better job of? Vs. re-tracking a cover. So truth be known? I "probably" won't re-track it. But it was an inspired vocal performance :-) And I do like some of the other performance aspects :-)

But we always hear the best in our performances?
