Everything but.... (Spring Update)

It's funny, the ONE feature that I've been waiting for out of all the features announced from the original Spring Update, UI Themes is still in the "coming soon" status.
(Feedback Portal and the new Library Browser also are not yet released, but those I can wait for).

Yeah, I know it's not a vital component, or even something really useful in producing music, but after seeing the examples posted a couple of months ago, I've been really looking forward to it's release.

Maybe they are mixing up the colors and realized they contained lead.

Yes, I am excited for this, as well.  That said, I assume that that the new browser will come along with the themes release.  That way, if there are any cosmetic/structural changes involved in the new browser, we won't suddenly need updated themes upon the release of the browser.

The problem is Cakewalk chose enamel paint for the UI themes instead of latex, so it's taking much longer to dry.

Perhaps those on the beta team with touch enabled monitors could do us all a solid and blow on them.

Its also hard to smooth out enamel paint without leaving brush marks.

Yea, so I've taken to checking the rollback to see if there is a "early update" that might have the new UI themes.  This update system is like playing "Myst".

Until then i just enjoy the Panu Duckbar alternates. I wonder if Panu has any input into this process.

No, but the new Dark Theme is a nice official alternative for my Dark Side mod (which has nicer orange tone, in my opinion).

this dark theme still has several non good things:
    1. too many unnecessary 3d lines and emtpy spaces
    2. pressed buttons don't differ from unpressed ones. for example - can you say what is the selected ratio in compressor? imho it would be nice to have unpressed buttons with same background color as panels underneath
    3. own backgrounds for _all_ buttons create unnecessary color "noise" across the UI
    4. gray transport buttons..

if i have time i think i could edit this mockup to be more good-looking

I have nothing to do with Dark Theme. It just has similarities with my old Dark Side theme which is a good thing because I prefer to have more contrast in the GUI than what SONAR currently can offer.
