Everything but "Insert Soft Synth" menu via right mouse click!

I would like to have the "Insert Soft Synth" option displayed via a right mouse click in the track names area or even as a keybinding .

Is there a way of doing this either through the Registry or a menu edit?

Thanks

    daveny5  ALT-I-S?

Thanks for the reply...I assume you meant AltI Y.

I was really hoping for a one-press solution.

A right mouse click in the Track Names area would bring up my "custom soft synth" menu.

In a keybinding, I would just use my left hand to press one PC-keyboard key to bring up the same menu.

In either case, I would still use the mouse to make the selection (which I would probably already be holding).

ALT-I-S opens the Insert-Softsynth dialog for me on X1. Maybe you changed yours.

not for me, and I haven't changed mine - my Insert menu shows "Stereo Bus" and "Soft Synth"

...but regardless, I still would like a one-press solution.

...a right mouse click in the track names area brings up the selections:

    Insert Audio Track
    Insert Midi Track
    Insert Multiple Tracks...
    Insert Track Folder
    Insert From Track Template

    but no Insert Soft Synth

I guess the solution is to duplicate each entry in my custom Plug ins Layouts menu as a Track Template entry - this would then allow a synth selection via the mouse after the right mouse click...and a keybinding!

If you have your browser dragged down to the multidock then using "B" for browser can put you directly into the add synth menu(*) with 1 click on the "+". (* with the synth tab active)

I can't believe this is still like this - been waiting for them to add the right click option for 3 years.

Its not about what is quicker, its about consistancy.  Is it that hard to update a context menu?

I have my Browser docked on the right and collapsed..... right clicking once on the Browse Synth Rack icon allows you to Insert Synths. So.... it's very easy to do what you're asking. I recommend creating a customized Plug-in Layout if you haven't already done so. ENJOY!

thanks for the reply...and yes, that will do it...however, I don't normally keep the browser open on the right as it takes up about 1/4 of my Track area...would still like a right-mouse click to open the Insert Dialog for "Insert Soft Synth"...

If you have the Browser collapsed it's about the same width as the scroll bars.....  and the icon is right there.
I feel your frustration in wanting to access the Soft Synths along with the other Insert options. It seems like the perfect place to quickly access it. So while you patiently wait for that feauture to be added.... you can remain frustrated or try one of the options that have been suggested.
    ENJOY!

don't get me wrong - this is not a show stopper - especially when I can use Track templates to accomplish this - which is what I will do.  It just surprises me that it hasn;t been part of the menuing system.
