Evil's Turn To Be Afraid

Hi all,

I've been working on some orchestral music lately and here is my latest track.

http://www.youtube.com/user/MarkStothardMusic?feature=mhee

Any tips or comments would be appreciated as always.

Thanks
Mark.

    Hi, Mark,

Very dramatic and cinematic sounding piece, and absolutely wonderful job on the composition and orchestration!

Thanks for sharing, and best wishes!

Some amazing library sounds you have going there Mark. This would certainly work well in a cinematic setting. Bit short though. :)

    Very nice.

Reminds me of Action Strings but you're probably skilled enough to really do it, ya?

You've written a wonderful piece for a video or film clip.  The production sounds very professional.

Just add a touch of reverb /ambience to the violins and you're all set. That low end really rocked my sub!

Only listening on crappy laptop, so can't say anything worthwhile re mix other that it translates pretty well all things considered, so I would probably just do what the yoyomeister says. Impressive orchestral sounds (eastwest?) and I would say probably about he right length as is unless you went for a biggish change. Can easily imagine this being used in a film scene.

Evil is definitely afraid. ... afraid that this song monotonously drones on and on. Nice tones though.

Yes work on with this it is a really dramatic setup Garita or EWQL I suppose. Somewhere it must be a more ambiance feeling to it I hope.

Thank you all very much for your comments and advice.

The main library's i used were LASS and Albion 3.
Due to some of the comments, I've changed it slightly.

Really nice Mark - I cheated and listened to Medieval Roar while I was there.
Have you had any joy selling your stuff to the video game industry? This stuff is perfect for it

excellent Mark. very much set the scene for some epic battle. i thought the whole thing was a bit reverb lite, don't be afraid to splash it on, think 7.1 surround!

Daryl: Thank you very much for listening (to 2 Tracks) Regarding selling to video game industry, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Mark: Long time no here. Thank you too for taking the time to listen. I really struggle with reverb. There is either too much, or not enough.. I will give it another go.

    Mark.
