I assume this refers to the 'le Tour de France'.

I find bicycling to be really 'geeky' ( e.g., the outfits), but I find myself captivated by 'The Tour'. I started watching it last year and it sucked me in. Been recording and watching this year's stages. The French countryside is beautiful.  The TV coverage is excellent. I find it to be one of the most dangerous sporting events. These guys are all packed together in the 'paloton'. How they all ride so close to each and do it without more accidents is beyond me. There is still a lot I don't understand about the sport, but have been enjoying watching it.

    Broken pencils are pointless.

The God of Thunder has been mighty impressive the last two days.  Who would have predicted that he'd keep the Yellow Jersey over all those mountains?

Ken - You're right, cycling is a dangerous sport, but not so much from riding in the peloton.
Consider instead the mountain stages, where after struggling up one side of a mountain with lungs screaming in the thin air, riders fly down the winding roads on the other side pushing speeds of 50 to 70 mph on tires have pencil thin contact with the road.  Then they do it again.  Drug/blood doping abuses or not, cyclists have the hearts of lions!

(But yeah, the whole doping thing almost made me lose all interest in the sport, just coming back into it this year.)
