Existing MIDI drum file to Session Drummer track

I have a MIDI drum file that I want to import into a Session Drummer 3 track. If I create the track as "Simple Instrument Track" I am able to copy and paste the existing MIDI data right onto the track and it plays just as expected. But I don't really want to use the Simple Instrument Track method - I want an individual track inside the drum folder for each drum component. Is there any easy way to accomplish this? Of course I am able to create the folder with individual tracks but when I paste the MIDI data onto the folder it does not play. SONAR X1 PRODUCER - WINDOWS XP

Midi data goes on a track. The track is assigned to SD. Not sure what you're talking about with 'folders'. Folders are just where stuff is kept. If you want something in a folder, just put it there. OH, maybe you mean track folders. Ok, um, first off, you don't have to use 'simple inst track. You selected that when you inserted SD. Try inserting SD again and look at the box that comes up, uncheck 'simple inst track'. Ok, back to folders and tracks. You can split all your midi drum parts to their own tracks. However, probably better to assign specific outputs in SD to separate tracks/channels in X1.
