Expansion packs still free if Dimension Pro is part of Sonar 8.5?
I was wondering if I upgrade from Sonar Studio 7 to Sonar Producer 8.5: It includes Dimension Pro, can I get those expansion packs I read about that are for registered owners of Dim Pro or do I have to buy Dim Pro separately to get that? Also, I am torn between getting a new synth like OP-X Pro (Sale is over but still might get it) or to just do this 8.5 upgrade. Or is there some other great synth with a good deal going on right now I should know about in the $100 range? I was thinking of OP-X Pro, ImpOSCcar, or Minimonsta, but then this special upgrade came around for loyal Sonar users, so I am at a loss now. Also...is Z3ta+ really cool or what!? I have tried the demo of it the past few days, and it makes it hard to pass up this upgrade to 8.5.

Yea, there shouldn't be a problem. I think they come on the new double-sided DVD, but I can't remember (I already had the expansion packs before SONAR 8). Z3TA is cool - tho it really isn't as analog as some of the other synths you've mentioned. It is a great synth and if you wait you can get it for a song. Same goes for Rapture, which I prefer to Z3TA - it has been on sale for -$100 for Cake owners. You don't state what kind of music you do, but I find a thicker, VA style synth mixes w/ the cleaner, biting Cake synths very well. I used Komplexer and/or Alchemy for this twinning. Works very well. @

Yes, the Dim Pro Expansion packs are free, if you own SONAR 8.5. You can install them from one of the 8.5 4 disks or you can download them from the Dim Pro Support site, once you register the Dim Pro serial which you get from one of the 8.5 disks.

The music I make is sometimes electronic (sort of a trance sound, not sure what to call it) or a progressive type of thing. Is there any way to track how the shipping is going, so I'll know when I'll get it? Or does Cakewalk send by regular mail (instead of UPS of FedEx) ? It has been a while since I last ordered from them, and can't remember how they sent Sonar 7.

Sylenth is supposed to be a very good complement to Dimpro, from what I understand (I don't have it). SONAR 8.5 toys should keep you busy for a while, anyway. I have Wuski, but haven't used it that much. From what I remember it is brighter and cleaner than VAs, but I wouldn't swear to it. I got it for the wavetables and the price was right. I can't remember how Cake sends there packages either - tho maybe someone else does. @

Cakewalk send packages FedEX. If you go to your order page (in your account), you'll see that the words "Tracking Number" has (or will become without warning) a link to your tracking number. Or at least that's how it worked for me.
