Experimental Frogs (Seaspray)

http://soundcloud.com/aaudiomystiks/experimentalfrogs-seaspray

This is the third piece for my Honours application, simply titled Experimental Frogs (Seaspray).  It's an experimental sound collage featuring frogs as woodblocks, birds as wha and a meadow that hums.  Think a Monet painting, so def not a song as such.

Ben, this is one of the coolest things I've heard in a while.  Your production has come a long way, and this has depth and texture to spare.  It's experimental in the best sense (like..."number nine, number nine").  I love the frogs in this.

    All the best,

Thanks, Lynn, lets just hope the university vecks agree.  I know I said it wasn't a song per sae but I hope you got that there was a start, a middle and end.

    Cheers Ben

    Pretty trippy!
The image for the song definitely adds some color!

I have to say the first thing that came to my mind was,
"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict" but this seems a little deeper than that.
    Nice!

Experimental this is for sure and pretty interesting. It does have a start, middle and finish to it, just like any song, painting or poem. It is left to the imagination of the listener, like art is to the viewer or a poem is to the hearer. Very interesting to listen to from start to finish. It would be interesting to do a painting while listening to this piece, just to see what a visual of it would look like. Very interesting, to say the least.

Nice one Ben, love the 'humming meadow', that's excellent. More 'Kandinsky' than 'Monet' I think.

Thank you so much for all the kind positive words, and John I am working on an experimental video for the piece.  I just have to make another visit to Seaspray, which is a little sleepy village to record some more footage.

    Thanks Ben

Wild man.  I heard the 'wood blocks' of course but didn't hear any frogs - had to read your description again - those 'are' the frogs!  Good luck with your studies.

Thanks Scott, yea those woodblocks are frogs.  It's amazing once you start listening to the sounds of the real world you start to go...you know that frog sounds very percussive I could use that as a bongo, or woodblocks.  Cars start sound like dirty synth lines and motorbikes dirty bass lines and on it goes.
