Exponential Audio Updates
Important Announcements: Free Updates And More
There's been a lot going on at Exponential Audio over the last few months. The biggest news is that there are new updates for
PhoenixVerb, PhoenixVerb Surround, R2, R2 Surround and
Excalibur! The just-released versions are:
- PhoenixVerb and R2: V 3.0.2
- PhoenixVerb Surround and R2 Surround: V2.0.0
- Excalibur: V2.1.1
You'll find new features and bug fixes. Release notes are included in the installer packages and it's always a good idea to read through before you install. And of course, these updates are absolutely
free to any license-holder. You can get the installers
right here. 32-bit support for AU, VST and VST3 ends at the end of 2016
It's always hard to say goodbye, but we'll be soon be saying goodbye to 32-bit versions of the plugins (except for AAX). There are only a handful of DAWs that haven't advanced to 64-bit over the last few years. It's a lot of effort to build and test 32-bit versions, and we'd rather spend that time and energy on new developments. There will be updates of all of these versions before the end of the year and we'll do our best to make those 32-bit builds really solid. But there will be no more updates of 32-bit AU, VST or VST3 after the beginning of 2017. AAX-32 will continue to receive support for a while longer.
Support for OS X 10.6 and 10.7 will end at the end of 2016
And we'll also be dropping further releases for these venerable versions of OS X. They're still favorite versions for a few of you, but newer versions provide better performance and security. By dropping these legacy systems, we'll be able to take advantage of some newer frameworks from Apple. We'll have another build or two before 2017 and will do our best to leave you with a solid version. But it might be time to think about updating those systems.
