Export Audio File Naming

When exporting audio files, SONAR has this habit of inserting "Buss," "Track," or whatever you've chosen in the set-up screen to the end of the given file name. How can this be shut off? It is a PIA to keep going in and deleting this SONAR added information from the file name.

That's because you're selecting the wrong setting on the File-Export dialog. You should be selecting Entire Mix for you final mixdown. The reason you're getting the extra information is because you're selecting either busses or tracks and that information is needed to identify which buss or track you're exporting.

Actually this IS something we should be able to shut off.
Being an IK ARC user I send my "Master" buss to the ARC buss which outputs to the main stereo out.
Since I do NOT wish to have the ARC "correction" applied to the final wav file, I get the annoying "Master" on all exported files.
Not that big a deal, just change the name of the file after export.

Weird, i don't get anything like that when i export projects. It names it exactly what i type. it doesn't add master or bus to it.
Try making sure your are selecting the correct export settings. I cant be the only one with this option

    CJ,

I do not export the "entire mix," though. I suppose I can, but if I accidentally leave something turned up that I don't want, I'll be back to re-exporting the audio. This actually makes my work flow more difficult. In a way it ticks me off, because Cakewalk must think I am too dumb not to know what I am exporting.

Create the audio track first then drag the file in you want to export. That way you don't get the file name as the track name.

If you are just converting one track you won't want to add any other outputs that might be present in the entire mix.

Just mute the tracks you don't want in the mix, then CTRL-A to select all of the tracks, and then File-Export. Easy.

"Just mute the tracks you don't want in the mix, then CTRL-A to select all of the tracks, and then File-Export. Easy."   Yes, but that's extra steps = wasted time = wasted $$
