Export Audio Sample Rate

I recently had a nightmare trying to burn audio files to CD. I created the MIDI files in Sonar 5 Studio Edition, using external synths. I created audio tracks & recorded the analog sounds of these instruments. When I exported the selected tracks to audio I used a sample rate of 44100. Afterwards I was unable to burn the resulting files to CDs. I tried a variety of things but none of them worked. My son, who is more savvy about such things, was ultimately successful on his computer but could not get it to work on the system I use. He said the problem was probably that I used the wrong sample rate. Can anybody comment on this?

44.1 is the correct sample rate for cds, perhaps your son meant 'bit depth' which should be set at 16 for cds. In Sonar's export dialog choose the preset "What you hear" and Sonar will automatically select 16/44. You should then be able to burn a music cd of the the exported file.

    Hope this helps,
