Export MIDI file

Is there a way to export a MIDI track as a single .mid file? With certain MIDI tracks, it's easier for me to do editing in another program.

Thanks.

No. You could copy the MIDI track and paste it into a new Cakewalk project and then save that as a .MID file or you could save the whole project as a .MID file and then load it into your editor program and delete the tracks you don't want in that program.

Yes. Details are in the Help files under "Exporting MIDI Groove Clips". I'm too tired to type all the information.

I'm trying to do this too and I end up with 23 files for one bass line, I can see what they are, its all the fill in's and edits. What I cant see is how to make this into one midi file I can export. Any help aprreciated. Purpose is to load the file inrto another program. thanks.

Select the MIDI track (making sure that all the MIDI data is highlighted), then select 'EDIT' then 'Bounce to clip'. This will condense all your MIDI data into one MIDI file. Then, just drag and drop that single MIDI file onto your desktop (or wherever you like) to export it.
