Export with metronome

Hi guys,
I want to make a recording for our drummer, so he can practice with it. Is there any simple way to export the metronome as well?
So what I would like to have is my guitar track with the metronome as I hear it in sonar. Just exported as wave.

Thx

No, unless they changed that with recent versions. The metronome is just a live-running click, it's not considered an actual audio signal.

Easiest way is to just use TTS-1 and set up a midi click, groove-clip it however long you need, then export.

    Thanks,
I hope cakewalk will "fix" this. I mean export with metronome this is nothing too uncommon.

I'll start by saying I doubt that you'll get your wish, it's just a couple of clicks to set up the TTS-1, and it's always been this way as far as I remember...

Having said that, if it is a feature that you find useful then I support your need for it... so you can add that as a feature request here:

Best of luck, I hope I've at least given you a workable solution in the meantime.

    Cheers

They actually worked really hard to make sure it wouldn't render on mixdown.  (Have you ever heard the phrase "it's not a bug, it's a feature"?)

There's a rather elaborate stunt that you can use to route the audio metronome back up to a track by using a side-chainable plugin on the target track, soloing the side-chain input, and sending the metronome bus signal to the side-chain input.  (This avoids having to create MIDI events on a metronome track...or doing a hardware loopback to capture the audio.)  You then record the metronome audio while not at offline mixdown time when SONAR is muting the metronome.

Actually depending on what sound card you use, you may be able to.  I haven't been able to try this is X1, I remember a long time ago I was able to do it with 5.  (I'm using the Audiophile 2496)

If you create an audio track and set the input to whatever your computer uses for sound on the pc, when you record with a click on, it should record it.

Worst case scenario - find a cowbell sample (or any other click) and record that.  A bit more annoying, but with copy/pasting it wont take more than a minute.

That's an elegant solution...unless you have a project with multiple time signatures where the denominator changes too (i.e. 4/4 to 7/8 to 3/4 to 2/2, etc.).

so i dont see how thats a problem....
It just means that you couldn't just roll out a quarter note click groove clip over your whole project and be done with it.  You'd have to use another for the x/8 measures and then go back to the quarter note clip for the x/4 measures.  If you can capture the metronome, it all comes out in the wash.

That is only to say that, in the edge cases where you're dealing with a non-pop project, it ends up being a bit more time consuming...making it become just about even up for effort (and slightly more of a maintenance headache) compared with the side-chain hack solution.

if you have a focusrite  interface you can  use the loop back feature, or spdif on anyother interface to make a loopback....

Just to clarify, there are pre - recorded metronome groove clips already in Sonar's sample content folder. Different time signatures too. Makes creating an audio metronome track easy.
