Exporting Raw Files, Configuration File- Dropout Msec?
Hello, can some one explane the Dropout Msec in the configuration file. I had alot of problems with Dropouts upon Exporting raw wave files. I was exporting 15 wave files 44.1 24bit. no effects. I would get a hang/crash and a message saying to much dropout. this is with normal bounce. if I quick bounced, no problems. I adjusted the Confiruation file-Dropout Msec from 250 to 500 and it fixed the problem! My question is. what does this do and if i leave it at 500 will it present a problem in the future. I'm on windows 10 sonar platinum manchester and a brand new studiocat computer

Hi Arthur, To answer your question, no it will not pose a problem in the future (my keep Sonar running stable on your system). Here's another tip.. I found this yesterday from another forum user (Bitflipper). http://forum.cakewalk.com/Another-good-video-for-beginners-m3370512.aspx Has some really good information that is relevant to your question. Hope this helps!

This is one reason to use fast bounce. As Noel points out in http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3094164Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk] Unlike real time bounce, fast bounce is actually immune to dropouts since it scales performance based on cpu availability. A real time bounce will actually drop out if load is too high which can happen if your project is already maxing the cpu since bounce has extra load due to file io.

Thanks, arlen2133 and scook! its kinda tough when your sitting with a client, just finished drum edits and they what to take there files for gtr, vocal overdubs and mixing. and I say lets normal bounce I think its better, then CRASH. I dont think I'll be normal bouncing from here on out. thanks Again Arthur

funny stuff though, as soon as I changed the configuration file-Dropout Msec to 500, normal bounce worked with no problems. I guess I'm just curious.

dude24man and I say lets normal bounce I think its better
It isn't better or worse. Sonar will be doing the same processing, other than playing the audio, whether you "fast" or "normal" bounce. The end result will be the same.
