Exporting only a portion of a project

If I have a project that is 6 tracks - what is the right way to export just two tracks of it ( will it work to just mute the tracks I don't want to export - or will their data go anyway?...

    Select the tracks to export, then export.
    Selecting all tracks with the unwanted ones muted would work too.

    thats too simple !!! - lol. I tried that and will again.. It seemed that the time it took to export / render the tracks down was way too long to have been only those two tracks..and there was a lot of "dead space" of the resulting import - audio, after the end of the song??

    In addition to selecting the tracks, the start and end times of the the export can be specified. There are several methods for selecting a time range to export such as click-drag across the timeline or select a time range using Edit > Select menu options.

    ok good stuff..I think I did not know that a time range selection would apply to export.

    I think I did not know that a time range selection would apply to export. 


    I think we ALL probably learned that one the hard way when we started exporting tracks. :-)
