Expression pedal for A-500S

I am a novice on keyboard after playing guitar for 40+ years and really enjoying it so I recently upgraded my Korg Nanokey to the Cakewalk A-500S and now am really enjoying it. I purchased the unit especially to work with GPO-4 so I knew I would need an expression pedal so I picked up the:

-Roland DP-10 Half Damper Pedal.

Now that I have setup the keyboard and perused the manual, I see Cakewalk explicity recommends the EV-5 expression pedal.

Is my pedal going to work? I spent a lot of time researching pedals and nowhere did I find the restriction for the EV-5 on any of the product spec pages, etc for the A-500S.

And secondly, is there no warranty or registration for the keyboard?

Many thanks!

Best, Robby K

    Hi Robby,

So far it's been my experience that expression and sustain pedals are pretty generic in what they will work with.  I took the sustain pedal off my Alesis QS7.1 and plugged it into my A-Pro 800 and it worked fine.  I already had an EV-5 on my Alesis and I swapped it in, too.  So far, I've been going back and forth with them, but might just buy a new set to have to keep from swapping.
    Cheers,
    Bud

Thanks so much Bud, I'll be finally getting some time to work with the keyboard in the studio next month so it is comforting to know ahead of time!
