External effects plug-in not showing all i/o

Greetings,
I've got 2 AES16s and a variety of outboard to connect, but I'm missing 3 stereo outputs on the "send" side.  They show in the audio preferences just fine--just not when I'm trying to route using the plugin.

Also locking up to the point of re-boot while sorting through this.

Windows XP 32 bit, latest V19 AES16 drivers, Sonar X1 w/ "b" update.  ASIO drivers.

Thanks,
Cass

Hmmmm.....I'm starting to think there's some sort of preventative measure to keep feedback loops from occurring.

Coming from a different platform, so some of this isn't so obvious to me.

It's certainly finicky, but I've got everything going okay with the exception of AES16 (1), output 1+2, which doesn't appear in the external effects plug-in.

Is this an assumption that output 1+2 would be the monitor outs, and therefore won't allow me to route to those channels within the effects plugin?  I may be reaching here, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I run several DACs, so in my situation 1+2 aren't used for monitoring.

    Developers?

From what I understand the external inset will not see any I/O that is already in use by either sends or main outs

You're right. Even if i/o is in archived track you can't use it in External Insert.
It's not a bug but by design.

    Thanks for the responses.

The channels in question aren't assigned to another output, and I'm wondering if it's assuming 1+2 are my main outs, which they aren't.  Caught a glimpse of this while importing audio, where it said something like "audition bus", then defaulted to 1+2.  This may just require a physical re-route if that's the case.

Good to know about the archived thing, though.
