External midi Instrument tracks ala Cubase?

in Cubase you can create an external instrument track which is like a hybrid audio/midi track for connecting synthesisers/sound modules. Is there a way to do this in Sonar or do you need to have separate audio and MIDI tracks to accomplish the same thing?

No, SONAR does not have this feature. It might be worth entering a feature request. One way to get close to that is to group the solo buttons, and put the tracks in a folder.

Thanks I'll have to add it as a FR. I would be very useful and the way Cubase does it is very elegant. I'll try you folder track method in the meantime.

And don't forget Sonar track templates, save the folder with tracks as a template and ready to insert in any project in future.
