Extracting A Groove From A Song - Broken?

Hello,

Sorry if I am a noob at doing this, but I wanted to extract the precise groove from a public song.   Are we still supposed to use Audiosnap for this or is there a newer/better method.   It doesn't seem to be working for me.  I am trying to implement this groove to my MIDI drum track.

Thanks,
Adam

If you have melodyne (essential at least)installed, drag the track to the timeline in sonar / CBB and drop it there.

Prest-o change-o the tempo make should modify to match the tempo of the tune.

Are you looking for a tempo map, or a MIDI of the groove? If the MIDI, GrooveExtractor from Le Sound can do a good job. I have the old Lite version, but haven't updated to the new, full version yet. What it does is give you a 5-track MIDI file for: kick, snare, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat/cymbals and toms.

You can drag a loop into GE, then drag the MIDI into your DAW.
