FIXED! Problem installing Sonar Platinum to Mapped Network Drive
Thought I might share this in case anyone comes across this problem while installing on of the Sonar versions, here's what I did to fix it...... I was just trying to install Sonar Platinum using the new Command Center and after a minute or so I received the following message: Setup was unable to create the directory "E:\Cakewalk Content Error 3: The System Cannot find the path specified
Now I've recently swapped my Samples disk (in my case drive E) for a mapped network drive and the Command Center wants to write to that specific drive, because my Sonar X3 content is installed there, but it can't because it probably doesn't have the system rights to do so. To fix this, I simply moved the 'Cakewalk Content' directory to another (physical) Hard Disk location (in my case G:\) and then changed the location in the registry. The specific registry line can be found at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Cakewalk Music Software 'ContentDir'
Then click on contentdir and change your drive letter. (In my case E:\Cakewalk Content to G:\Cakewalk Content) After this I opened the Command Center again, did a reinstall and it worked without any problems. Hope this helps. *edit* NOTE: Try disabling your firewall first.

I wonder if running C3 as admin would have helped.

A bit off-topic... I've signed up for the presale on the cake website.

Don't be crazy Steven, you know I'll always love you We actually got a lot more people signing up than we were anticipating so the odds of getting picked got smaller. It's only Thursday though - there is still time.

You can take me off the list. I pre-ordered Sonar Platinum today...and I can wait until the magic day arrives.

Mod Bod It's the "signing up" process that has me baffled. Is that simply entering your name and your email on the buy now screen?
I think that's just for email updates, announcements, etc. In other words, the newsletter.

Baffled as well. Is there something to do other than enter your email on that presage page? I didn't see any further actions available.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

That's what I did, I clicked on the buy now button and was taken to a page to enter my name and email address. Anyways, I couldn't stop myself and pre-ordered from JRR because of the 15% discount. I could get Platinum for $126.65 and used Paypal.

A little addendum... Yesterday I opened an old project and a popup from the windows firewall came up asking me to grant permission for Sonar to access my local network. So, although i'm not sure , maybe this also prevented the C3 from accessing my network drive during installation. If someone encounters the same problem as described in my OP. Then maybe you should first temporarily disable your firewall before changing registry stuff
