FLY INTO NEVERLAND - ADDED MORE GUITAR
Spin your wheels and head into the all new NEVERLAND , its ready for lyrics and vocals the way it is now but I'm still working on a few guitar lead tracks in my two bridge sections . But for whats its worth my plan is to start writing all lyrics leaving M.J. out this time and then adding in vocals . http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12408194&q=hi&newref=1 Hope you like it so far the music part of it , hopefully by the end of next week I'll have the vocals added to it with a final posted version . I hooked up my Microphone last night and made sure it was going to work with my new AUDIO BOX USB and it worked perfectly so I'm ready to record vocals after I rewrite the lyrics . Thanks - James

Hey, James, This song sounds really great, and the mix is right on the money! The piano and synths are clean and rich sounding, and the drums are perfect with the smooth vibe of the song. I like how the scratch effect adds a cool, modern element to the fresh sounding mix. Excellent job, James, very nice work! Bob

Hi Bob thanks for the comment on my WIP song and the MIX , I'm stuck mixing with this one little monitor speaker and the only reason for posting this sample was to get some sort feedback on my MIX . Tommorrow I'm going to try to add a guitar melody lead track to this music , not sure how thats going to work out but I'm going to give it a try and see what happens . Thanks again Bob , next time I post it the song will be finished . Atlease I know my MIX sounds good in your ears and not just mine . Cheers -James

A tad too much reverb? Nice vibe, needs some female vocal. Nice piece, sounds good. Daryl

Thanks Daryl theres only one track with reverb in it and that on the piano track , all the rest are compression tracks . Could be the PAD track making it sound that way , in my headphones it sounds great . I lost one of my monitor speakers last month when it died on me so I'm left mixing with the one monitor speaker to work with . Thanks for the listen - James

Thanks John , it might be some time before I can finish it because my computer is really screwing up on me everytime I try to record a new track to add to the song . It starts slowing down during recording and then breaks up like crazy on me , it shouldn't be doing that with this computer and right now I'm trying to figure out what is causing this stuff to happen . I started today cleaning out my computer and freeing up hard drive space , deleting song files in Project 5 hell I don't know what else to do except uninstall Windows XP and reinstall it plus everything else . With this computer I should be able to record 30 tracks or more without having to freeze them , maybe I can straighten this out tonight .

You might want to run your defragmenting program, also make sure that indexing is turned off, as it really isn't needed, but windows wants you to think that you do need it on. System clean up should let you run a report on every drive you have and let you clean up various files you don't need and keep the ones you want to keep. You can also hook up a side usb drive say like a tb of memory and store your music files in the side drive and free up your hard drive so you will have more processing memory. Hope you get it fixed. Peace and blessings, John

Thanks John I deleted a bunch of song files the other day and some favorite web sites I saved under favorites and then I looked in my Task Manager box after I opened that in Windows to see what is running in Windows and its loaded to the max with things I not really sure about deleting or closing down . You close the wrong thing down and you can cause Windows to crash . Right now I'm freezing all my tracks and that seems to work right now , maybe I can finished it I hope . See what happens for three days now I have been having some chest pains and that has me worried after the first heart attack I had last Christmas day . I'm thinking about checking in the ER today to have them run some test on me before something bad happens again like another heart attack while aat home or out somewhere at the store . Thanks for the support - James

Hope you get to feeling better James. Although you need to add vocals to this song and stop posting samples and stuff like that with excuses. I refuse to view ANYMORE of your post unless it has words and vocals in it!! Either way, for now I like the direction, but I can't tell much without it being complete. Take care and get checked out!! LOL!! You know I'm kidding with you James. Everybody else might not know that. Honestly I really do like this new version a lot better, the mix is right on in my opinion. It should be interesting to hear how you do the vocals. Too bad your having to work with 1 monitor speaker, that would drive me NUTS!! Bobby

Thanks John , yea I was putting it off for two days thinking my worry was just another Dud like before two months ago . This time I had more to worry about and said , ok wife is gone for another month and I'm here alone with five cats to feed and take care of and thats why I was stalling with the trip over to the ER again . I finally thought maybe this time I should go knowing shes not going to be back untill Aug the 10th , anyway I went in the ER for five hours and then they insisted I stay overnight for some more blood test . At first I told them I'm not staying overnight but after the warning this could risk your life by leaving I changed my mind and stayed overnight . They put me in a private room thank God but it was still noisy as hell in the hallways and I didn't sleep well at all because of the noise . My back was killing me because I have a history of lower back pain , those hospital beds you might as well be sleeping on a bed of rocks they are so lumpy . They did give me some injection pain medicine , that knocked the pain completely out in less then a minute and that lumpy bed wasn't so bad after getting that pain medicine THE GOOD STUFF . After giving me the really strong pain medicine twice they refused a third time after requesting another dose , I ended up having to take a not so strong pain pill medicine . Taking the lower dose was like jumping out of the BMW and into the VW bug , I'm thinking hell this isn't working now with the pain after taking the good stuff . Anyway they did another three blood test on me , I told them whatever I'm checking out on staurday no later then 10:00 am . Right at the last moment after complaining how long the whole process was taking to get me out at 10:00am the doctor finally showed up to sign off on me being in the hospital . They gave me some new heart medicine to help prevent having a heart attack so I'll be taking those I guess from now on plus I have to take another Stress test next week after I check in with my heart doctor . Anyway I'm back home now , guess I will rest up in bed the rest of the afternoon and get back to working on my new song tonight . Thanks for your concern John -James

There may be only one piano track with Verb but the piece overall has the sense of a LOT more than that. I agree with the folks saying it needs a vocal as well. If the drums are mic'd live it might be the mic positions but I am not an expert on that at all. Just sounds to me like the whole thing was recorded with overheads.

Thanks it was recorded with compression on all tracks and a few I added the exciter effect , the piano tracks I added some reverb . The other thing is the whole song was mixed using one small 10" monitor speaker , my power side died on me last month so for now I'm stucking mixing with one speaker . I'm getting mixed reviews on the over mix , some are saying it sounds great and then a few say it has a tab bit more of reverb in it . In my headphones it sounds great but again thats headphones and not monitor speakers .

Thanks Eric , I'm working on trying to get this music finished . After my heart scare and hospital visit it made made me a bit sluggish that and this HOT hot weather we are suddenly having . I have all my window air units at full throttle , its a bit too loud during the day when trying to mix anything . Hopefully my next weekend I'll have the music finished , thats the plan . Glad you like the music so far , thanks -James

Hi James, this is a fine start for your song. It needs a little more meat on the bones, but I like where it's going. I hope you recover from your health problems and have a happy and productive summer.

Hi Lynn , thanks yea with all these sudden heart issues it slowed me down some but I'm still working on the more meat on the bone stuff your talking about . I recorded a guitar track for it last night , it sounds ok but I think I can do better . Thats the plan after I change my guitar strings again using a new different set this time . Hopefully by this week-end or after the week-end the music will be ready for vocals I hope , the guitar track is slowly me down because me as a new guitar player it takes me longer to record something thats good enough to add to this song . Thanks again Lynn -James

Hello everyone I'm back with a completely ALL NEW version of NEVERLAND . The music is pretty much finished but I'm still working on some light guitar lead in my TWO new Bridge sections , just haven't figure that out yet if I do decide to add something in those two sections . Anyway take another SPIN into NEVERLAND and let me know what you think thanks ! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12408194&q=hi&newref=1 James
