Randy,
You came through again - that worked great. I use v-vocal a lot, and it never registered to me that it had the Formanting feature - I just didn't realize what it was for. Any idea why it doesn't work (grayed out) in Transpose? I've tried all five options in the drop-down box. Is one better than the other (V-vocal/Transpose)?
Thanks!
EDIT: Dang, I said just the opposite of what I intended--text below edited.
Hey, glad that helped. The Formant editor in V-Vocal can really help keep results more natural when you've had to push a pitch very far. I think the basic concept is easy to figure out - If you've shifted a pitch higher, than
raise LOWER the formant, and the opposite of you've pitched lower. BUT I recommend you be careful using amounts more than -4/+4. And it's often best to free hand draw the amount you want, rather than selecting a section and moving a flat line amount - that's too gross a selection.
I don't think there's any contest between V-Vocal and Transpose. The latter, IMHO, is way primitive in comparison - fewer controls, worse results. I used to use Transpose, but that was in the years before V-Vocal.
