blue cat is free

is it 64 bit and stable?

I've commited myself to using only quality plugs and stay away from freeware after I've learned how a single VST (one I've payed for) can actually harm the stability of the entire DAW ...

blue cat is 64bit and its included with every issue of computer music magazine. theyre not the type to keep suspect software on their dvds and downloads.  lots of users i would imagine. check the bc website.

Thanks for all the ideas and options everyone...

I've had some difficulty with some melda plugins in the past but I haven't tried them again in a while... I might...

Yes, Voxengo has some EQs with built in spectrum analyzer...

But to tell the truth... It's not "just" the feature that I want... I want it in the Quad-Curve EQ as it's my goto EQ most of the time these days. I like the sound of it and it's so very versatile that I've not had to look elsewhere... as far as it's sound itself...

...and I have the Voxengo and Blue Cat devices around somewhere too... I don't think I have installed them on my newest machine yet tho... I've been EQ'ing by ear for more than 40 years so it's not really that hard for me... I just like having the convenience and added surity the analyzer brings....

So here's hoping that's in the near-future for Cakewalk's Quad-Curve PC module! ;-)

Thanks everyone... It seems there are quite a few others thinking along these lines so maybe it'll get attention sooner rather than later?
