    Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

    Really? I'll have to check it out again. At first listen I thought the demos sounded awful.
     
    EDIT: OK, I've checked them out a little more and they are definately not awful, but not amazing either. At that price, I think you're better off with VSL or EWQLSO.
     
    Of course, this thread is about the free version, and who can argue with free?

    I'll have to agree. Checked out the Monster Staccatos and while the low end (basses, celli) sounded pretty the high end (violas, violins) were a bit disappointing to my ear. At that price I'd go with Vienna Special Edition. Then again I've been a Vienna fan quite a while now. But as a free library it's a nice addition (layered with Vienna Horizon series Chamber strings it's quite nice).

    As I don't have Kontakt, I made an sfz file so I could play them in Dim Pro (I've include the round robins) so if anyone wants a copy (of the .sfz) , let me know.

    I used it in a hiphop instrumental and it was just what the tune needed and sounds great in a mix, don't know if people makin orchestral music would like it though. Somebody will have to ask Rolifer.
