I used to leave the universe wadded up and wrinkled on the floor. I just didn't want waste all that time folding it up properly. Sure, I ended up walking on it quite a bit. I spilled melted cheese on it more than once. At least once every few months, I'd lose it in the general clutter and then spend half of an afternoon searching for it. Somehow, it usually ended up stuffed under the bed next to an unread textbook and socks which had escaped from a dryer six weeks earlier.
It took forever to spread the stupid thing out. When I realized I had it upside down, I was too lazy to fix it.
Sorry.

So it's your fault that the universe is in such sorry shape? I had always blamed it on giant baboons from Voltar IV. They had picked on the universe like bullys on a middle school playground when the teacher was researching looking at funny dog videos on facebook.
They'd usually pick up the universe and wad it up and play Hornsicle ball with it. Hornsicle ball is a lot like basketball, but with a ball that has horns and is on a popsicle stick that came out of the freezer.
It was no ordinary freezer, eitehr, the freezer was designed by the Gargantuans of HPEE (pronounced "I-pee"). The freezer was desinged to freeze their enemies down to just before absolute 0 degrees. One time, they actually made it to zero degrees Kelvin, but the freezer immediately afterward imploded and took 1/3 of the HPEE moon (Braxis) with it, sending the freezer and 1,000 HPEE scientists into the next galaxy, spewed out like lukewarm coffee on a cold day.
Thus was born the phrase "HPEE freely"

It flew over the fence and landed in my backyard. It's not like it had a return address on it or anything. It also had a few rips. I taped them up to stop stuff from falling out all over the place. I didn't want to just leave it out there, because it was rather unsightly.
I couldn't get rid of the thing, so I just threw it in the trunk along with some oily rags and a tire iron.

It's illegal to harbor a damaged universe, tho. A lot of people, including you, may not realize that any damaged universe found in the possession of a citizen of the 12 Rings of Beta-Zed will be punished to the point of death, resurrection and death again for as many times as necessary to complete rehabilitation.
Damaged universes must be delivered to the Majistrate of Universes, Solar Systems and Unicorns within 24 hours of finding said universe. They have UPS locators on them (Universal Positioning System), so they will find you and the damaged universe within a couple of galactic hours (that's 4 standard minutes for you and me!).
My suggestion is that you toss the damaged universe over the fence to your neighbors' yard and pretend you didn't even know it was there. the UPS's accuracy is more than 20 feet, so you should be safe there. Don't forget to wipe your molecules off of it with a galactic Sham Wow! cloth before tossing it, or they'll be able to detect the molecules which are associated with your pheremones. Then they'll lock you up in a time warp until Judge Dredd finally arrives from the future to sentence you for your crimes.
Oh - and thow a towel across the fence, too, one with embroidered flowers on it. The Majistrate loves flower towels.
