FWIW, a warning on The Loop Loft

From the site: "A boutique sample shop, The Loop Loft records the best musicians on the planet to create the highest quality loops, ReFills, Ableton Live Packs & Multitrack Sessions available anywhere."

I bought a couple of loop collections from them earlier this year. Both were good. Last weekend I bought a third, and this one had loud pops at the ends of many loops, making them unusable.

The Loop Loft doesn't give refunds, so I wrote a negative review of the collection and sent it to them. Two days later it still isn't showing on the site. I wrote them to ask when it would appear; no answer. Wrote again; no answer. Tweeted; no answer.

Apparently The Loop Loft blocks negative reviews. That may be why all their products are rated 5/5 or close to it. Something to keep in mind if you're considering ordering.

BTW, the collection to avoid: the WAV version of "Janek Gwizdala - The Fodera Sessions."

I have some Loop Loft stuff and it is excellent quality, no pops or anything. Could it be a case of sloppy editing on the loop pack you bought, so that they don't end on a zero crossing? If so it would be pretty easy to fix that yourself.

Tbh I've often wondered why sites host reviews of their own products. If I'm going to research a product with reviews then that's the last place I'll look for an impartial cross section of opinion.

LoopLoft has always been real good for me. Disappointing to hear that didn't get right on a problem though.

Makes sense. Guess I'm gullible. And spoiled by Amazon.

The other two sets I bought from them sound great. I was ready to be a loyal, frequent customer. Not anymore . . .
