FX Chain Presets Missing
Hi,
Watching the X1 tips&tricks video I realised I should have some FX Chain presets. I don't seem to have them. They are .fxc files. I can create a new chain and save it ok. Its then there to select and stored where the Preferences>file>FX Chain Presets is selected. I just can find any presets that might have shipped with x1. If I search my drives, only my created *.fxc files are found. Any idea ? Here can I get them from ?
Help Appreciated... from a riot torn UK.

If i'm the only one missing these presets, any idea where I can get them from. I don't have X1 install disk only purchase from cakwalk site with install exe file.

They only show up in the Plugins browser at the bottom of your plugins list, not in a regular folder in the Browser.

Hi Seth.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I find the folder in the browser. However, it only contains the chains I have created. No shipped presets. I did a search of my drives and no other *.fxc files except those I created. So either I somehow deleted them ?? or they didn't install. Ant way I can get them ?

You can reinstall SONAR, do a Custom install, and make sure everything is checked.

1 - are you sure there are preset Fx chains bundled with Sonar? I can't check as I'm nowhere near my DAW
2 - any bundled chains can only consist of the Fx plugs bundled with Sonar
3 - if you choose not to install a particular plug, any chain containing that plug will, at best, not work and at worst, cause Sonar to crash
4 - chains will be pretty much user specific and are really easy to build - why the angst?

no angst really Jonsey. I was watching Sonar Tips and tricks Video and there seemed to be lots of presets that could be used as starters and the guys said 'shipped with X1' and it shows in his browser.
Have you been out overnigh down there........... getting free trainers and studio hardware ??? I guess not funny though..
Seth, I'm not so sure about a custoe install, i'm tempted, but maybe a risk when my system seems fairly stable. Seth, while you ar on, is the Pro Channel Freeze issue going to be solved in X1c. Its a real pain for me.

Try holding down shift when launching X1 the next time. That will redo the personalization and may resolve this issue.

Hi, Thanks to the replies here. Appreciated. Did the shift thing, still no shipped chain pre sets. I guess either didn't get loaded or somehow they got deleted. Anyway not the end of the earth, so I will carry on without.

There is no mention of any bundled Fx Chain presets in the manual, in Scotts book, nor was I able to find any last night after a lengthy session with X1
I don't think they exist.

Taking a wild stab in the dark sort of guess, i think I'd look under instruments for, er, instruments, and anything to do with Fx under, you know Fx.
But that's just me.

Yes, I know they should be there, and where they should be when I started this thread, its just I don't have them.... so was wondering why.?
Anyway, some of you now know you have something you didn't know you had, while I don't have something I know I should. Sort of life in summary !!!. thank for your replies anyway.
Update... maybe someone could email the pre-sets to me ?? ie attach the .fxc files ?
